"A charming English style--and
attitude--infuses this book on furnishing dollhouses. A Dorset-based
father-and-daughter team selects eight rooms and decorates
them according to eight different design periods, from a medieval
scullery to a very modern (and pricey) kitchen. It may take
a bit of interpretation to decipher their instructions for
the projects because of the often very British language. Nonetheless,
their methods for, say, painting a country pine dresser or
building an Edwardian chiffonier are both novel and fairly
easy to accomplish. Directions, though explicit, are not in
the usual how-to format; the list of necessary materials is
omitted and instructions are not illustrated in the step-by-step
process seemingly necessary for this craft."
